SCORE YOURSELF PROFILE

You can consider this “a test” if you like, and have a pen and paper to write your answers. As nobody is going to see the results of this “test” but yourself, you should be as honest and forthright as you can be. It may take you an hour, or a week to consider and complete this “test”. You are encouraged to repeat this “test” every six months… for the rest of your life!

Start by considering and writing down your responses to each of the following:

1. How do you fill your world, your space? What occupies the room/s of your dwelling? What “things” do you have around you? What do you “always” have with you?

2. How do you spend your time? What activities do you engage in most significantly in terms of “time spent” on them or in them?

3. How do you expend your energy? What is it that you do a lot of, “energetically” and actively?

4. How do you spend your money? On what do you spend the greatest proportions of your money? Where does each group of items money is spent on rank in order of spending?

5. What are your dominant thoughts? What is it that occupies your thoughts consistently?

6. What do you visualise internally or “dream” about having, being or doing? What sort of “pictures” do you see yourself in?

7. What is your predominant self-talk? What is your internal dialogue? Is it about yourself, or others? Is it critical or praising? Is it encouraging or negative?

8. What is your external dialogue? What do you talk about with others? What do you “lead” conversations with others towards, if possible? What topics “interest” you most?

9. What do you react to, or respond actively to? What do you become “excited” about? What do you become “anxious” about? What do you become sad or angry about? What do you feel “happy” or “contented” about when you think or talk about it?

Now you will have a lot of words written down from answering the 9 questions, and some of those words will have a very strong “feeling” sensation for you.

All your values and beliefs are not disclosed by this “test”, just some of the ones that have some significant implications for your future success. Also, your values and beliefs are a function of your goals and plans. Change your goals and plans, get really firm on new ones, and you will notice your values and beliefs exposed by answering these 9 questions will shift. Shift a little at first, but as you become more and more committed to your new goals and plans, some of the values and beliefs that emerge, or shift in the soft-strong hierarchy, will reflect and be aligned with those new goals and plans. They may become the “strongest” when they may have been the “softest”, or not even present, before.

Aligning you values, beliefs, actions with your purpose; and identifying your goals and plans; is the foundation of success. There are many resources in our Reading List and Links Page

Below is a table which you might like to assess yourself against. It is very interesting to write your values and beliefs words next to your first choice under “Profile”. Sometimes we are not who we think we are, we are not “aligned”, and it is necessary to “re-align” ourselves. That is the wonderful thing about this world. If we don’t like where we fit into it, we can change some aspects of ourselves, and fit in where we would like to!
